In battle, the command to “retreat” means but one thing! Get back or get out of the situation as quickly as you can. In fact, only shoot back to maximize your chance of escape.

Someone is always left standing behind, for the benefit of the greater number who escape their fate. Who draws that straw?

“He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword!” That seems to be the answer I’ve heard.

Retreat? When a tsunami is approaching and the command is, “Run!” Who is to blame “how” those who obey the command respond? Blame, if any, would be that you didn’t run fast enough! Just what is the proper and dignified way to retreat? Proudly surrender? Proudly run back into the approaching tsunami?

Too many words. Too many rationalizations. Too much blaming. The Republicans put the madness in motion. That is where the accountability should be. And, in that sense, each citizen who voted in this system when George was president (“us”) is somehow responsible. Unfortunately, those who made this obvious blunder will never be held accountable for the wasted lives, as they continue to live.

As for some of us who opposed the decision, both about Iraq and Afghanistan, all I can say is, “Yep. You got a lot of shit on your hands. Don’t ask me how to get them clean at this point.”

Many years ago, my Father left Texas and, later, moved his wife (my Mother) to California. That was after the start of WW2.

This morning, I read that there is NO permit required to open carry a weapon in Texas. If you have a gun you can carry it (and, apparently use it).

I’m not convinced that the average American citizen, raised on violent fictionalized sensationalism for entertainment, actually know how to resolved a dispute. And, the evidence tends to support to observation that the more guns are in the hands of people, the more innocent people are killed by those possessing guns. Thus, I say: NRA = “no responsible accountability.”

Alcohol and fire arms do not mix. Best friends, in dispute and under the influence, will injure or kill one another. Arguments that, otherwise, would be settled are ended in the explosion of gun fire. The defense then becomes, “impaired” intention due to intoxication. Scant accountability, as far as the dead person is concerned. Let’s not forget unreasonable or mistaken jealousy.

My advice: get out of Texas if you value civility. For those leaving California: good bye and please don’t bother coming back with the uncivilized politics of death and destruction.

Everyone served in the Armed forces of this nation. And, yet, despite the obstacles of hatred and racism were the best (fallible) humans ever to walk this earth.

WAR! What IS it good for ?????

I use Open Source Software. I suggest you do the same. It’s time to abandon Windows products and I highly recommend you do so, as quickly as possible. There’s no doubt that the initial design of Windows was for “personal computing” without the Internet being in mind, except (perhaps) for file transfer.

In any event, I use Linux and I’m happy to report I’ve no problems doing so. In fact, it’s easier than Windows (and less expensive). For my desktop business computing, Ubuntu has made the transition trivial.

Do you want to minimize the terror of hackers, ransomware and other abuse. Get rid of Windows!

Wishing you computing peace of mind, please take Linux for a spin. You’ll not regret it, and probably never look back at what you left behind.

1. Always avoid starting a fight to solve an argument. Seek peace! Walk away if needed.
2. If another provokes the fight, walk away, if you can. Run away if you need to not fight. Escape the situation, even if it means losing the respect of others or self respect as a human being.
3. Never enter a fight between relatives, particularly and specifically brothers, cousins, uncles or other family members.
4. Never fight in another person’s neighborhood. The environment your opponent knows (since that’s where he resides) exceeds yours. Thus, he has the advantage.
5. Only fight when you absolutely have no other alternative. Defend yourself in any and every way known or that can be attempted without limitation, and do so to win by employing and utilizing any means within your reach and necessary or die defending yourself.

I am not a pacifist. That is what I was taught as a child, having to face bullies in the streets. It is my moral stance with regard to politics and nationalism. #2 is, without a doubt, that which saved my life on at least two occasions from police brutality and abuse.

Obviously, nationalism does not follow the standards taught by a man who only finished the fifth grade in elementary school, before going to the cotton fields in Texas. The results shrouded in patriotism and profiteering is, unfortunately, all too predictable and avoidable.
